THE THERAPY

Therapy with Elisa creates balance, harmony and fluidity in the biomechanics of the body. By releasing the soft tissue, especially the facia, more space is created in the joints. This takes the body towards a more natural posture: rediscovering harmony on a physical, emotional and energetic level.

INFLUENCES

Its foundations are in reiki, oriental massage, acupressure and biomechanics. With influences from osteopathy, physiotherapy, rolfing, yoga, dance and much more. It takes into account the effects of gravity and life experiences/emotions on our structure.

HOW THIS THERAPY CAME TO BE...

Elisa began healing in 2003, over time, certain life experiences and injuries, deepened her understanding and perception of the human being. Especially the effects of emotional trauma, hypermobility and respiratory allergies.

THE THERAPY

Each patient and each therapy is different, accommodating the needs of each moment. From very subtle movements to deep tissue, the body and being are guided towards a new space.

Restorative Alignment Yoga

My classes and workshops are designed to take you on a journey to explore your posture; what influences it and how to adjust and better it. What has influenced my teaching is my background in healing therapy, dance, pilates and personal injuries.​

We work on uncovering our relationship to gravity and the energy of the Universe. By stretching to align the body and by activating certain parts to support your joints, whilst breathing harmoniously, you increase your body awareness.

The idea is to find more space within the physical body, so that we can flow through life experiences more comfortably.

 

Mine is not a typical yoga class.  We do do traditional yoga asanas, but we also experiment with different positions and movements. 

 

  • Learn how to move in a way that supports your joints and avoids injury

  • Develop more body awareness

  • Return to the basics, analysing/studying the movement in each part of your body, breathing through each position.

The classes often use a variety of props including blocks, belts, rolled up towels, a variety of back arches, the backmitra, balls (some bone shaped) and more.

To realign the posture, we learn how to stretch actively and passively, creating a harmoniously proportional balance to the length of our muscles.  This helps to create smooth biomechanics, strengthening muscles correctly to form a balanced muscle mass.  Accordingly, this instils greater stability in the physical body.

Once the physical body is more stable, it means there is more space for energy to circulate within and to connect to the energy without.  When the physical and energy bodies are harmonised, the mind can then calm.

 

My classes are designed for people with injuries or pain, or those who would like to improve their posture and deepen their body awareness.
